Transferring USDT through OKX requires more than copying a wallet address. Tether exists on multiple blockchains, and each network is a separate transfer route. The USDT asset, selected network, receiving address and available deposit route must agree on both sides. This guide explains how to deposit and withdraw USDT on OKX, compare TRC-20 and ERC-20, understand the fees displayed by the platform and avoid common network mistakes.

Why USDT network selection matters
USDT is designed to track the value of the US dollar, but it is issued on several blockchains. USDT on Ethereum and USDT on Tron may represent the same type of stablecoin, yet they live on different ledgers and use different transaction systems. Selecting USDT in both wallets is therefore not enough: the blockchain network must also match.
A transfer contains three essential parts:
- Token: USDT rather than another stablecoin such as USDC.
- Network: the exact blockchain route supported by both sender and receiver.
- Address: the destination generated for USDT on that network.
OKX may show different network choices depending on the user’s location, account and current platform support. If a network is not displayed on the live OKX deposit page, do not send USDT through that network even if another exchange offers it.
TRC-20 vs ERC-20 USDT
TRC-20 USDT runs on the Tron network. Tron addresses commonly begin with the letter T. This route is frequently used for exchange transfers, but its fee, availability and processing conditions can change.
ERC-20 USDT runs on Ethereum. Ethereum addresses commonly begin with 0x. Ethereum has broad wallet and exchange support, while network fees can rise when block space is in high demand.
These address patterns are useful clues, not sufficient proof. Other EVM-compatible networks also use 0x addresses, so an address that looks like Ethereum may belong to another blockchain. Always rely on the network name displayed by the receiving service.
Is TRC-20 or ERC-20 better for an OKX transfer?
There is no network that is always best. The correct network is first the one supported by both platforms. After compatibility is confirmed, compare the live withdrawal fee, minimum amount, expected confirmation time and reliability of the receiving service.
A practical decision order is:
- Open the USDT deposit page at the destination.
- Write down the exact supported network name.
- Check whether OKX offers that same network for USDT withdrawal.
- Compare the current amount, fee and expected credited total.
- Use a small test transaction when the route is new.
Do not choose a cheaper option and assume that the destination will automatically convert or bridge the transfer. Centralized exchanges generally credit only the asset-and-network combinations shown on their deposit pages.
How to deposit USDT on OKX
1. Open the official OKX deposit page
Sign in through the official OKX website or application. Use a saved bookmark rather than an advertisement or an unsolicited message. Open Deposit or the assets section and select Deposit crypto. Complete any identity or account requirements displayed by the platform.
2. Select USDT
Search for Tether or USDT and confirm that you have not selected another dollar-denominated token. Stablecoin names and icons can look similar, but USDT and USDC are separate assets and should not be sent to one another’s deposit route.
3. Choose the deposit network
OKX will display the currently supported USDT deposit networks for the account. Now open the withdrawal screen at the sending wallet or exchange. Select exactly the same network on that side.
If OKX shows Tron (TRC-20), the sender must use Tron for that transaction. If OKX shows Ethereum (ERC-20), the sender must use Ethereum. Do not interpret ERC-20, BEP-20, Arbitrum, Polygon or other EVM routes as interchangeable merely because their addresses may start with 0x.
4. Copy the current OKX address
Copy the address generated on the OKX USDT deposit screen or scan its QR code. After pasting it into the sending wallet, compare the complete address with the receiving page when possible. At minimum, check several characters at both ends and verify the network again.
Clipboard malware can replace an address after it is copied. Address-poisoning attacks can also place a similar-looking address in wallet history. For these reasons, do not select a destination only because it resembles one used previously.
5. Review minimums and confirmations
The OKX deposit page shows the current minimum amount and required network confirmations. A transfer below the stated minimum may not be credited normally. Confirmation time depends on the blockchain, its current load and the fee policy used by the sender.
6. Send a test transfer
For a new address or network, consider sending a small test amount that remains above the displayed minimum. Wait until OKX credits it to the expected account before sending the remainder. A second transaction creates another fee, but it can detect an incorrect route before a larger amount is exposed.
Where does a USDT deposit appear on OKX?
Depending on the account settings, deposited USDT may enter the Funding Account or Trading Account. Moving USDT internally between eligible OKX account sections is different from an on-chain blockchain transfer. An internal account transfer is generally immediate and does not require a new blockchain address.
Before assuming a deposit is missing, check the relevant OKX account balance and deposit history. The transaction may be credited to a different account section from the one currently displayed.
How to withdraw USDT from OKX
1. Get the destination from the receiving platform
Start at the wallet or exchange that will receive USDT. Open its USDT deposit screen, choose a supported blockchain network and copy the generated address. The receiving service determines which routes are valid.
2. Open the OKX withdrawal flow
In OKX, open the assets or portfolio section, select Withdraw and choose USDT. Select an on-chain withdrawal when sending to an external exchange or self-custody wallet. An internal transfer to another eligible OKX user follows a separate process.
3. Select the matching network
Choose the same blockchain that is displayed by the receiving platform. OKX may attempt to recognize an address format, but the user must still verify the network. If the receiver supplied a Tron USDT deposit address, select the supported Tron route. If it supplied an Ethereum USDT address, select the supported Ethereum route.
4. Paste and verify the address
Paste the address directly from the receiver, then compare it with the original. An address allowlist can add protection by restricting withdrawals to destinations that were reviewed earlier. A saved address should still have a clear label that identifies the owner, wallet and network.
5. Enter the amount and inspect the fee
Enter the withdrawal amount and review the current network fee shown by OKX. Confirm how much USDT is expected to reach the destination after the deduction. The arriving amount should remain above the destination’s minimum deposit.
6. Complete security verification
Read the address and network one final time before confirming. Complete the required two-factor authentication steps yourself. Never provide a password, authenticator code, seed phrase or remote device access to someone claiming that these are needed to process a withdrawal.
OKX USDT withdrawal fees explained
OKX displays a withdrawal fee for the selected token and network. According to its official guidance, the amount can change with blockchain conditions and operational adjustments. The live withdrawal screen—not an older article or social media post—is the relevant source for the transaction being prepared.
The fee is usually charged per withdrawal rather than as a simple percentage of the amount. However, the complete cost of moving funds can also include a fee at the sending platform, a conversion spread if another token is purchased and another reporting or tax event depending on the user’s jurisdiction.
An incoming OKX deposit does not normally create a receiving network fee at OKX, but the party sending the transaction pays its applicable withdrawal or blockchain fee. Always verify the current policy on the platform.
Why an OKX USDT deposit may be delayed
- Blockchain confirmation delay: the transfer is pending or has not reached the required confirmation count.
- Network mismatch: USDT was sent through a different blockchain from the one selected on OKX.
- Wrong address: the destination does not belong to the intended OKX deposit route.
- Below-minimum amount: the deposit is smaller than the threshold displayed by OKX.
- Unsupported token contract: a token with the same ticker is not the USDT contract supported by the platform.
- Temporary maintenance: deposits on a network may be paused while OKX synchronizes or upgrades its wallet infrastructure.
- Account review: additional security or compliance checks may be required.
How to check a missing USDT transfer
- Find the transaction ID or TxID in the sending platform’s history.
- Open the correct blockchain explorer for the selected network.
- Check whether the transaction is pending, failed or confirmed.
- Compare the token, contract, network and destination address with the OKX deposit page.
- Confirm that the amount is above the current minimum.
- Check OKX deposit history and the Funding and Trading balances.
- If everything matches, contact OKX through its official support center and provide the TxID and screenshots.
Blockchain confirmation does not prove that a transfer used a supported deposit route. If USDT was sent through the wrong network or to an incorrect address, recovery may be unavailable. Do not trust third parties promising guaranteed recovery for an advance payment.
Common USDT network mistakes
- Choosing TRC-20 at one platform and ERC-20 at the other.
- Assuming all 0x addresses use the Ethereum mainnet.
- Selecting a network solely because its displayed fee is lower.
- Sending USDT to a USDC deposit address.
- Sending less than the current minimum amount.
- Copying an address from transaction history without verifying it.
- Failing to inspect an address after pasting.
- Using an outdated screenshot of an OKX deposit address.
- Sending the entire balance before testing a new route.
- Sharing verification codes with fake customer support.
Final OKX USDT transfer checklist
- Is USDT selected on both platforms?
- Do both screens display the same blockchain network?
- Is that network currently available for this account?
- Was the address copied from the current receiving screen?
- Does the pasted address match the destination?
- Is the amount above both platforms’ applicable minimums?
- Have you reviewed the live fee and credited amount?
- Would a test transaction be appropriate?
- Are you using the official OKX website or application?
Final thoughts
A safe USDT transfer on OKX begins with the receiving platform. Choose the valid USDT network there, match that network in OKX, verify the address after pasting and review the live fee and minimum. TRC-20 and ERC-20 are separate routes; neither should be selected until compatibility is confirmed.
