Bybit Card Auto-Earn and Auto-Deduction connect two activities that are often treated separately: placing idle crypto into Flexible Easy Earn and keeping assets available for card payments. Auto-Earn can subscribe selected transferable balances to Flexible Term products on a daily schedule. Auto-Deduction can allow a corresponding Flexible Earn position to fund a card payment when eligible assets in the Funding Account are insufficient. The convenience is real, but so are the consequences for liquidity, payment priority, yield, conversion records and risk.

Last reviewed: October 31, 2026. Bybit Card programmes, Easy Earn availability, supported assets, subscription limits, APRs, payment priority, processing times and regional rules can change. Check the authenticated Bybit Card dashboard, Easy Earn order page and terms that apply to your account before enabling either function. This independent guide is educational and is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice.

Quick answer: Auto-Earn automatically subscribes selected eligible balances to Flexible Easy Earn; Auto-Deduction separately determines whether the corresponding Flexible Earn asset may be used for Bybit Card payments. Enabling one should not be confused with enabling the other. Before relying on the feature, verify the selected payment assets, their priority, the current Spending Power, Flexible Earn limits and the transaction records created when assets are subscribed, redeemed, sold or spent.

Bybit Card Auto-Earn checklist

  1. Confirm that Bybit Card and Easy Earn are available for your verified account and region.
  2. Identify which crypto assets are selected under Paying With.
  3. Review the payment priority before enabling automatic subscriptions.
  4. Check each asset’s Flexible Easy Earn minimum, maximum and current APR.
  5. Decide separately whether to enable Auto-Earn and Auto-Deduction.
  6. Keep a Funding Account buffer for tips, deposits and preauthorisations.
  7. Review Spending Power rather than relying on total account equity.
  8. Know where Card, Funding Account and Easy Earn records appear.
  9. Recheck settings after changing payment assets or moving funds.
  10. Use only the authenticated Bybit interface and official support.

Auto-Earn and card rewards are not the same feature

The similar language can cause confusion. Bybit Card rewards are benefits calculated from eligible completed spending under the current reward programme. They can involve points, tiers, cashback rates and monthly caps. Auto-Earn instead uses the card dashboard as an interface for subscribing the user’s own eligible crypto assets to Flexible Easy Earn.

Feature What triggers it What it affects
Card rewards An eligible settled purchase Points or cashback under reward rules
Auto-Earn The daily automatic-subscription cycle Selected transferable balances and Flexible Earn positions
Auto-Deduction An eligible card payment lacking sufficient ordinary balance Whether corresponding Flexible Earn assets can fund the payment

Our Bybit Card rewards audit covers points, tiers, cashback caps and refund adjustments. This guide focuses on the asset-management automation behind card spending.

What is Bybit Card Auto-Earn?

Bybit describes Auto-Earn in the Card interface as the same underlying Auto-Earn functionality used with Easy Earn. When enabled for a selected asset, transferable funds can be automatically subscribed to the asset’s Flexible Term product during the daily processing cycle, subject to the product’s minimum, maximum and available capacity.

The official FAQ currently states that the automatic subscription runs at 10 AM UTC. A balance that appears after the processing point may therefore wait for the next cycle. A subscription can also fail or be smaller than expected when the balance is below the minimum, above a permitted maximum or the product has limited capacity.

Auto-Earn does not create a separate Bybit Card wallet. It automates movement from eligible balances into Flexible Easy Earn positions while the Card dashboard remains one of the places where the setting can be managed.

What is Auto-Deduction?

Auto-Deduction is the permission that lets Bybit use supported assets subscribed to Flexible Earn for an eligible card payment when ordinary available balances are insufficient. It does not decide which assets should earn yield and it does not automatically make every Earn position spendable.

The selected payment asset still matters. If USDT is selected for card payments and the relevant USDT Flexible Earn position is eligible for Auto-Deduction, Bybit can use that USDT position under the current rules. A BTC or USDC Easy Earn position is not automatically consumed merely because it exists elsewhere in the account.

Core distinction: Auto-Earn answers “should this balance be automatically subscribed?” Auto-Deduction answers “may the corresponding subscribed asset be used when this card payment needs it?”

How Funding Account, Easy Earn and Bybit Card connect

The Funding Account is the operational centre for many Bybit funding and payment services. Card Spending Power can include eligible base fiat and selected payment crypto assets. Flexible Easy Earn positions sit in an Earn product, while Auto-Deduction can create a controlled bridge back to card spending.

  1. An eligible asset is available in the Funding Account.
  2. The user selects that asset for Auto-Earn.
  3. The daily process subscribes an eligible amount to Flexible Easy Earn.
  4. The asset begins following the applicable Flexible Term yield rules.
  5. A Bybit Card authorisation later requests payment.
  6. Ordinary eligible balances are checked under the payment-priority rules.
  7. If they are insufficient and Auto-Deduction applies, the matching Flexible Earn asset may be used.
  8. The card authorisation, crypto sale and account movements generate separate records.

This chain explains why a single purchase can be visible in Card Transaction History, Funding Account History and Easy Earn records. Those entries are related, not necessarily duplicate charges.

Spending Power is an estimate, not total account equity

Bybit describes Spending Power as the estimated amount available for card use. It is calculated from eligible base-currency funds and selected payment crypto assets under the applicable programme. It should not be confused with total portfolio value, Unified Trading Account equity or every asset displayed in Bybit.

Spending Power can change because of:

  • market movement in a selected crypto asset;
  • a transfer between Funding Account and another account;
  • an Auto-Earn subscription;
  • an Easy Earn redemption or Auto-Deduction;
  • pending card authorisations;
  • personal daily or monthly limits;
  • an account or risk-control restriction;
  • minimum conversion requirements.

Check the live Card dashboard before an important purchase. A total balance shown elsewhere is not proof that a merchant authorisation will be approved.

Payment crypto selection and priority

The Bybit Card dashboard allows eligible users to select supported payment crypto assets through Paying With and arrange their priority. The current general help page says up to three payment crypto assets can be selected. The available list and default priority can vary as programmes evolve.

Priority is an instruction with financial consequences. Placing BTC before a stablecoin can cause BTC to be sold when fiat is insufficient. Placing a stablecoin first can preserve other assets, but it still exposes the user to the rules and risks of that stablecoin and the platform. Review the order rather than accepting a default without understanding it.

Auto-Earn does not remove payment priority. A practical configuration aligns the asset selected for automatic subscription with the asset the user is genuinely prepared to spend.

How to enable Auto-Earn from Bybit Card

  1. Sign in through the official Bybit website or application.
  2. Open Finance and select Card.
  3. Find the Auto-Earn control near the Spending Power or asset section.
  4. Select the eligible asset or assets intended for automatic subscription.
  5. Review the Flexible Easy Earn information, limits and current APR.
  6. Read the acknowledgement and applicable terms.
  7. Confirm the change.
  8. After the next processing cycle, verify the subscription in Easy Earn orders and Funding Account history.

Labels and navigation can differ by device, region and application release. Do not enable a function through a link received in a direct message. Open Bybit independently and locate the setting inside the authenticated product.

How to enable Auto-Deduction

Auto-Deduction is presented as a separate option when the supported Card and Easy Earn integration is available. Read the confirmation carefully because enabling it changes the role of an Earn position: the asset is no longer only an investment balance; it may also become a source for card spending.

  1. Open the Bybit Card asset or Spending Power area.
  2. Confirm the intended asset under Paying With.
  3. Open the Auto-Earn or related Easy Earn settings.
  4. Enable Auto-Deduction only for assets you are willing to spend.
  5. Review the displayed order and acknowledgement.
  6. Confirm, then check whether Spending Power changed as expected.

Do not rely on an old screenshot to determine which balance will be used. The authenticated confirmation and current transaction preview are the relevant sources.

Example: USDT in Funding Account and Flexible Easy Earn

Assume a user has 30 USDT available in the Funding Account, 100 USDT in Flexible Easy Earn and wants to make a card purchase equivalent to 60 USD. USDT is selected as the payment crypto, and Auto-Deduction is enabled.

Subject to current rules, Bybit can use the ordinary eligible balance and draw on the matching Flexible Earn position for the shortfall. The payment may also require conversion into the card’s base currency. The exact records and amounts depend on the programme, authorisation, conversion price and final merchant settlement.

Afterward, the user should reconcile four items:

  • the merchant receipt;
  • the Card authorisation and final transaction;
  • the Funding Account movement;
  • the Flexible Earn deduction or redemption and crypto-sale details.

Example: several selected payment assets

Assume USDC, USDT and BTC are selected in that order. Auto-Earn is enabled for all three, but the user intends to spend only stablecoins. If the stablecoin balances cannot cover a purchase and BTC remains in the active payment priority, the transaction may reach BTC according to the current rules and available balances.

The safest approach is not to assume that “Auto-Earn protects my holdings.” Auto-Earn controls subscription, not personal investment intent. Remove any asset from Paying With if selling it for card purchases would be unacceptable, subject to current Card requirements.

What happens during a card payment?

  1. The merchant sends an authorisation request.
  2. Card status, merchant type, limits and authentication are checked.
  3. Bybit evaluates eligible fiat and selected crypto balances.
  4. The payment priority determines the order of supported assets.
  5. Auto-Deduction can make a matching Flexible Earn position available when permitted.
  6. Required crypto is converted into the relevant fiat amount.
  7. The authorised amount is frozen.
  8. The merchant later completes, adjusts or reverses the authorisation.

Bybit’s transaction guide says an authorised amount can remain frozen until the merchant completes the payment, potentially for an extended processing window. Auto-Deduction does not eliminate that lifecycle. Hotels, fuel stations, restaurants and rentals can request more than the expected final amount.

Leave a liquidity buffer

A configuration that appears efficient in a spreadsheet can fail at a payment terminal if every eligible balance has been committed too tightly. Keep a reasonable buffer in the Funding Account for:

  • tips and adjusted restaurant totals;
  • hotel and vehicle-rental deposits;
  • fuel-pump preauthorisations;
  • foreign-exchange padding;
  • several pending transactions;
  • market movement before conversion;
  • minimum crypto-conversion rules.

The buffer is not a promise of approval. It simply reduces the chance that a temporary hold or small price movement exhausts Spending Power.

How Flexible Easy Earn yield works

Flexible Easy Earn is designed to calculate yield under the live product rules while allowing redemption. Bybit’s current FAQ describes a floating APR for Flexible Term products. The displayed APR can change with the asset, market conditions, promotional tier and product capacity.

APR is an annualised reference, not a guaranteed daily profit. Actual credited yield depends on the amount that remained subscribed during the applicable calculation period. An Auto-Deduction for card spending reduces the position and therefore the amount available to earn afterward.

Do not compare a headline APR directly with the card purchase amount. The relevant comparison includes the duration of subscription, actual credited yield, crypto-price movement, conversion spread, taxes and the value of added operational complexity.

Token amount protection is not fiat-value protection

Bybit’s Easy Earn materials distinguish protection of principal in token amount from the token’s market value. Receiving the same number of units does not guarantee that those units retain the same dollar, euro or other fiat value.

A stablecoin can also carry issuer, market and platform risks. A volatile asset can move substantially while subscribed. Auto-Earn should not be described as a guaranteed savings account, insured bank deposit or risk-free return.

Flexible Term and Fixed Term are different

Area Flexible Term Fixed Term
Access Redemption is generally available under current rules Usually restricted until maturity
APR Can fluctuate Set under the subscription terms
Card integration Relevant to documented Auto-Deduction Should not be assumed spendable
Planning use Shorter-term liquidity with product risk Funds committed for a defined term

The fact that both appear under Easy Earn does not make them interchangeable. The documented Card function refers to supported Flexible Term assets. Verify the product label before relying on it for a purchase.

Minimums, maximums and product capacity

Each Easy Earn product can have a minimum subscription, maximum amount and available pool capacity. Auto-Earn operates within those constraints. If an eligible balance falls below the minimum, no automatic subscription may occur for that cycle. If a maximum is reached, only part of the balance may be subscribed or the action may not proceed.

These limits are separate from card spending limits. A user can be within the Easy Earn limit but above the Card’s daily transaction limit, or within the Card limit but unable to subscribe an amount below the Easy Earn minimum.

What happens when Auto-Earn is disabled?

Disabling Auto-Earn stops future automatic subscriptions under the applicable timing rules. The official Card FAQ currently says a change made before 10 AM UTC can take effect for that day’s cycle, while a later change may apply from the following day.

Disabling the toggle should not be interpreted as an automatic redemption of every existing Flexible Earn position. Already subscribed assets can remain in Easy Earn and may require a manual redemption if the user wants them returned to the Funding Account.

After any change, inspect both the Card dashboard and Easy Earn orders. A toggle state alone does not reconstruct what happened to an earlier subscription.

What happens when Auto-Deduction is disabled?

With Auto-Deduction disabled, assets held in Easy Earn should not be assumed available to fund the card. The card relies on eligible fiat and selected payment crypto available through the ordinary Card funding path. Spending Power may therefore decrease, and a purchase can be declined even though the account still shows a substantial Easy Earn position.

For a planned large purchase, either maintain sufficient ordinary eligible balance or manually redeem the needed Flexible position with enough time to verify the result. Do not switch settings at the checkout and assume every account view will update instantly.

Auto-Earn and Auto-Deduction records

A reliable audit uses the right record for each question:

Question Record to review
Was an asset automatically subscribed? Easy Earn order and Funding Account history
How much yield was credited? Flexible Term interest distribution
Was a card payment authorised? Card Authorization history
What final amount settled? Card Transaction history
Which crypto was converted? Crypto Sold details
Was a hold reversed? Authorization reversal and Funding Account balance

Export or preserve records periodically. An app screen designed for current activity is not a substitute for long-term accounting records.

Why a card payment can still be declined

Auto-Deduction does not override every Card rule. A payment can fail because:

  • the matching crypto is not selected under Paying With;
  • the Flexible Earn position is unsupported or unavailable;
  • Auto-Deduction is disabled;
  • the amount exceeds Spending Power or a personal limit;
  • the merchant category or country is restricted;
  • 3D Secure authentication was not completed;
  • pending authorisations already reserve funds;
  • the card is frozen, inactive or replaced;
  • the merchant rejects the card type;
  • account risk controls restrict the transaction.

Use our Bybit Card transaction troubleshooting guide for the full declined, pending, refund and dispute workflow.

Auto-Earn does not remove conversion costs

When crypto funds a card purchase, Bybit can convert the selected asset into the required fiat value. The execution rate and any applicable crypto-conversion fee or spread remain relevant. A foreign-currency purchase can add card-network conversion and a regional foreign-exchange fee.

Yield earned over a short holding period can be smaller than conversion costs or adverse price movement. Review the completed transaction and Crypto Sold record instead of evaluating the feature solely from its APR.

For international costs, see our Bybit Card abroad, FX and DCC guide.

Refunds do not restore the original investment state

A merchant refund follows the card-payment lifecycle. It does not guarantee that the same number of crypto units will be returned to the original Flexible Earn position. The purchase may have sold crypto at one price, while the refund arrives later as a card-account amount under current processing rules.

Compare the original authorisation, completed purchase, crypto sale, refund and any later subscription as separate events. Do not calculate gain, loss or yield from the merchant receipt alone.

Tax and accounting considerations

Depending on jurisdiction, selling crypto to fund a Bybit Card purchase can create a taxable disposal. Easy Earn yield can also have separate income or reporting treatment. Auto-Deduction can make these events more frequent without making them less reportable.

Preserve:

  • subscription and redemption dates;
  • asset quantities;
  • yield distributions;
  • crypto conversion values and fees;
  • merchant, currency and final card amount;
  • refund and reversal records;
  • transaction and order identifiers.

Obtain advice for the law that applies to you. A platform label such as Auto-Earn or Auto-Deduction does not determine tax treatment.

Platform, custody and access risk

Assets used with Bybit Card and Easy Earn remain within a custodial platform arrangement governed by eligibility, account controls and product terms. Access can be affected by maintenance, identity review, compliance restrictions, technical failure or a change in regional availability.

Flexible access means redemption is designed to be available under the product rules; it does not mean every payment is guaranteed or that the service is equivalent to self-custody. Do not place emergency funds into an automated strategy without another way to meet essential expenses.

A conservative configuration example

A user who understands the risks might choose one supported stablecoin specifically for everyday Card spending, place it first in Paying With, enable Auto-Earn only for that asset and retain a separate fiat or stablecoin buffer in the Funding Account. Long-term BTC or ETH holdings can remain outside Card payment priority if the user does not want them sold.

This is an operational example, not a recommendation. The appropriate setup depends on risk tolerance, reporting requirements, regional terms and whether the user values yield more than simplicity and immediate liquidity.

When Auto-Earn may be unsuitable

  • You do not understand Flexible Easy Earn or its terms.
  • You need a fixed amount immediately available for essential bills.
  • You do not want Card spending to touch an investment position.
  • You cannot maintain accurate tax or accounting records.
  • The available APR does not justify added complexity.
  • The selected asset’s price or issuer risk is unacceptable.
  • You are likely to forget payment priority after changing holdings.
  • You rely on Bybit Card as your only payment method.

Monthly configuration audit

  1. Open Paying With and verify the selected assets and order.
  2. Review which assets have Auto-Earn enabled.
  3. Review the Auto-Deduction permission separately.
  4. Compare Spending Power with expected upcoming expenses.
  5. Inspect pending Card authorisations.
  6. Reconcile Easy Earn subscriptions and yield distributions.
  7. Check current APRs, minimums, maximums and product capacity.
  8. Export records needed for budgeting or taxes.
  9. Remove assets you no longer intend to spend.
  10. Confirm that account, email and two-factor authentication remain secure.

Troubleshooting Auto-Earn

No automatic subscription appeared

Check whether the asset is enabled, whether the balance existed before the daily processing point, and whether the amount satisfies the product minimum. Review maximum limits, pool capacity and regional availability.

Spending Power fell after changing settings

Confirm whether Auto-Deduction remains enabled and whether the subscribed asset is still selected under Paying With. Review pending authorisations and transfers as well as Easy Earn activity.

A different asset was sold

Open Paying With and inspect payment priority, then expand the completed Card transaction and review Crypto Sold. Do not infer the funding asset solely from portfolio movement.

Easy Earn funds exist but the card was declined

Check Auto-Deduction, supported asset status, Spending Power, Card limits, merchant restrictions and authentication. Easy Earn equity alone does not guarantee card eligibility.

Auto-Earn was disabled but funds remain subscribed

Disabling future automation does not necessarily redeem existing positions. Open Easy Earn orders and follow the current manual Flexible Term redemption process if appropriate.

Security precautions

  • Change settings only through the official Bybit website or application.
  • Do not share passwords, 2FA codes, card CVV or security answers.
  • Reject unsolicited offers to “activate yield” through a wallet transfer.
  • Review the asset, amount and permission on every confirmation screen.
  • Use a unique account password and strong two-factor authentication.
  • Check active sessions and secure the connected email account.
  • Contact support through the authenticated Help Center route.

A legitimate support investigation does not require a wallet seed phrase or a transfer to a verification address.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bybit Card Auto-Earn the same as Easy Earn?

Bybit states that the Card Auto-Earn control uses the same Auto-Earn functionality associated with Easy Earn. Enabling it can automatically subscribe eligible selected balances to Flexible Term products.

Is Auto-Deduction enabled automatically with Auto-Earn?

Treat them as separate decisions and verify both controls. Auto-Earn manages automatic subscription, while Auto-Deduction permits supported Flexible Earn assets to fund eligible card payments.

Can Bybit Card spend Flexible Easy Earn assets?

Supported matching assets may be available when Auto-Deduction is enabled and current programme rules are satisfied. Not every Earn product or asset should be assumed spendable.

Does disabling Auto-Earn redeem existing positions?

Not necessarily. It stops future automatic subscriptions under the applicable timing rules. Existing Flexible Earn positions can require manual redemption.

Why did my payment fail when Easy Earn showed enough money?

The asset may not be selected, Auto-Deduction may be off, Spending Power or limits may be insufficient, or another card restriction may apply.

Does Auto-Earn guarantee a fixed APR?

No. Flexible Term APR can change, and actual yield depends on the subscribed amount and applicable calculation period.

Which asset will Bybit Card spend first?

The configured Paying With priority and available eligible balances determine the sequence under current rules. Check the live dashboard before payment.

Can Auto-Deduction use BTC?

It may use a supported BTC Flexible Earn position if BTC is eligible, selected for payment and Auto-Deduction applies. Remove BTC from payment priority if you do not want it sold for purchases.

Where can I find Auto-Earn records?

Review Easy Earn orders, Flexible Term interest distributions and Funding Account history. Card payments and crypto sales appear in their corresponding Card records.

Are Auto-Earn yield and Card cashback the same?

No. Yield comes from the Easy Earn position. Card cashback or points arise from eligible spending under the separate Card rewards programme.

Is Easy Earn risk-free?

No investment or custodial crypto product should be treated as risk-free. Review platform, asset, market, liquidity, regional and product-term risks.

Final checklist

  • Auto-Earn and Auto-Deduction understood as separate controls.
  • Payment assets and their priority reviewed.
  • Flexible Term product, current APR and limits checked.
  • Funding Account buffer retained.
  • Spending Power verified before important purchases.
  • Long-term holdings removed from payment priority when appropriate.
  • Card, Funding Account and Easy Earn records reconciled.
  • Tax and accounting consequences considered.
  • Backup payment method available.
  • Official Bybit support route saved.
Key takeaway: Auto-Earn can put selected idle balances into Flexible Easy Earn, while Auto-Deduction can make the corresponding position available for card spending. The useful question is not simply whether both toggles are on, but whether the selected asset, payment priority, liquidity buffer and recordkeeping process match what the cardholder actually intends.
