A headline cashback rate does not explain what a cardholder will actually receive. A Bybit Card purchase must settle, qualify under current reward rules, fit within the user’s tier and remaining monthly cap, then move through pending points and redemption. Refunds and reversals can change the result later. This guide provides a transaction-by-transaction audit so users can trace rewards from the merchant payment to the final Funding Account credit.
Last reviewed: October 23, 2026. Bybit Card availability, reward tiers, eligible transactions, caps, processing windows and regional terms can change. Verify current information in the authenticated Bybit Card dashboard and official Help Center. This independent guide is educational and does not promise rewards or financial benefit.
1. Bybit Card Rewards in one lifecycle
The reward process contains several stages. A merchant first authorizes a purchase, later settles a final amount, and Bybit determines reward eligibility under the current program. Eligible points may remain pending before becoming available. They are then redeemed manually or through Auto Cashback.
| Stage | What happens | Where to check |
|---|---|---|
| Authorization | Merchant reserves an estimated amount | Card transaction history |
| Settlement | Merchant submits the final charge | Completed transaction details |
| Reward calculation | Eligibility, tier, multiplier and cap are applied | Rewards and Points records |
| Pending points | Points await processing or review | Points status |
| Available points | Points can be redeemed | Rewards Market |
| Cashback credit | Redeemed value reaches the applicable account | Funding Account history |
| Adjustment | Refund or reversal can change rewards | Transaction and Points records |
2. Points and cashback are not identical
Rewards Points are the program unit earned from eligible spending. Cashback is value received when points are redeemed under the current conversion rules. A points balance therefore is not automatically a cash balance.
Record the number of points, redemption rate, selected cashback token and actual credited amount separately. Promotions can use different conversion rules from the core program.
3. Bybit Card and Bybit Pay can share reward totals
Bybit’s current documentation says spending and points from Card and Pay can be aggregated for tier and cap calculations. A Card user may therefore reach a monthly cap earlier because Bybit Pay already earned points in the same period.
Audit both records before concluding that a later Card purchase was under-rewarded.
4. Start with the exact product and region
Virtual, physical and Lite products, card networks and regional issuers can have different availability and terms. Identify account region, card type, program version and applicable terms before using a rate copied from another user.
The authenticated dashboard is more reliable than an old screenshot or promotional post.
5. Authorization is not settlement
A pending authorization can differ from the final amount because of tips, currency conversion, partial capture or merchant adjustment. Rewards normally depend on completed activity rather than a temporary reserved amount.
Do not calculate missing points from a pending value. Wait for settlement and preserve the receipt.
6. Transaction date versus settlement date
The purchase date records when the card was presented. Settlement occurs when the merchant completes the charge. These can fall on different calendar days or months.
This difference can affect tier progress, monthly caps and which reward terms apply. Record both dates when a purchase occurs near month-end.
7. Eligible spending
Not every debit from a card balance earns rewards. Bybit’s current FAQ excludes fees and charges, and regional terms or program rules may exclude additional transaction types. Cash-like operations, reversals or internal adjustments should not be assumed eligible.
Eligibility check
- Confirm the transaction is completed.
- Identify merchant and transaction category.
- Separate purchase amount from fees.
- Review current regional exclusions.
- Check whether a promotion has narrower rules.
- Do not rely solely on the merchant name shown on a receipt.
8. How the multiplier works
The current program applies a points multiplier or cashback equivalent associated with a tier. The simple estimate is eligible settled spending multiplied by the applicable points rate, subject to program rules and the remaining cap.
The estimate is not final if part of the purchase is ineligible, the cap is reached or the transaction is later refunded.
9. Spending-based tiers
Non-VIP users may unlock higher tiers after meeting published monthly spending thresholds. The upgrade is not necessarily retroactive. Bybit currently explains that Card upgrades take effect after settlement according to the program timing.
A purchase that crosses a threshold may be calculated under the tier active before the upgrade, while a later eligible purchase receives the higher rate.
10. VIP-based tiers
A VIP level can establish a default reward tier and may change immediately with the effective VIP status. Users can potentially unlock higher levels through spending, but they should distinguish the guaranteed VIP floor from a temporary spending upgrade.
Never increase trading risk solely to chase a card reward tier. Compare the total cost and risk with the limited cashback benefit.
11. Tier effective date
For an audit, record the tier displayed when the transaction settled and the date any upgrade became effective. Do not apply today’s tier to an older purchase automatically.
If the dashboard shows an upgrade after settlement, compare the official timing rule before filing a support request.
12. How long a tier lasts
Bybit currently describes spending-unlocked tiers as lasting through the end of the following calendar month, subject to maintaining program requirements. VIP-linked tiers follow the current VIP level. These rules can change, so the live dashboard controls.
13. Monthly reset
Spending progress and caps generally use calendar-month boundaries under the program’s stated timezone. Settlement near the boundary can place a transaction in a different month from the card swipe.
Save the month’s records before and after reset if the reward appears in an unexpected period.
14. Monthly point cap
Each tier can limit total points earned in a month. Once the cap is reached, the headline rate no longer predicts additional rewards. A later tier upgrade may raise the cap according to current rules.
Calculate remaining capacity before estimating a reward:
15. Cashback cap
Bybit may express a point cap and an equivalent cashback value. The equivalent depends on the program’s conversion rate. Promotional rewards can have separate caps and should not be merged with the ordinary monthly maximum without checking terms.
16. Pending Rewards Points
Points may remain pending for a processing or risk-review window after settlement. Pending does not mean available for redemption. Bybit’s recent Card FAQ describes an ordinary multi-day period, but users should check the current page rather than assume a permanent number.
If points remain pending beyond the current window, capture the transaction ID, settlement date and points record before contacting support.
17. Available Rewards Points
Available points have passed the pending stage and can be used in the Rewards Market or converted under Auto Cashback where supported. They still are not the same as a completed Funding Account credit.
18. Manual redemption
Manual redemption lets the user select an available reward under current Rewards Market inventory and terms. Record points deducted, reward selected, conversion rate and order status. Availability can change.
19. Auto Cashback
Auto Cashback converts eligible available points automatically under the configured program. Bybit currently documents a minimum threshold and a daily UTC processing window. Check the setting itself rather than assuming it remained enabled after a product or interface change.
- Open the authenticated Card dashboard.
- Open View Rewards or the current Rewards area.
- Confirm Auto Cashback is enabled.
- Confirm the selected cashback token.
- Check whether the minimum point balance was reached.
- Review deducted-point records.
- Confirm the resulting Funding Account credit.
20. Cashback token and conversion timing
The token selected for Auto Cashback and the conversion value at redemption can affect the quantity received. The purchase date price is not necessarily the redemption price. If a selected token becomes unavailable, current program rules may use a default asset such as USDT.
Compare the points conversion record, not the merchant receipt, when checking cashback-token quantity.
21. Where the reward is credited
Bybit’s current instructions direct users to the Funding Account for Auto Cashback credits. Search the correct account and time window. A missing credit in the Card transaction list may exist as a separate Funding Account deposit.
22. Full refunds
A full refund reverses the economic basis for the original purchase and may cause related points or cashback to be removed, offset or corrected. The payment refund and reward adjustment may appear at different times.
Track the completed purchase, refund reference, returned amount, original points and later adjustment together.
23. Partial refunds
A partial refund can reduce eligible spending without cancelling the complete purchase. The reward correction should be evaluated against the final retained amount, tier and rules. Do not assume all points must disappear.
24. Authorization reversal versus refund
A reversal releases a pending authorization that never settled. A refund returns value after settlement. A reversed authorization may never create final reward eligibility; a refund can adjust rewards that were already pending, available or redeemed.
25. Chargebacks and disputes
A dispute can change transaction status over a longer lifecycle. Provisional credits, final decisions and fees should not be confused with eligible spending. Preserve case references and wait for the final state before reconciling monthly rewards.
26. Foreign-currency purchases
The merchant amount, card billing amount and reward calculation base can differ when currencies are converted. Do not calculate rewards from a DCC receipt without comparing the final settled card amount.
FX costs can exceed cashback. Evaluate net cost rather than treating rewards as proof that a foreign purchase was economical.
27. Promotions versus core rewards
Welcome packages, merchant campaigns and Pay Later incentives can use separate eligibility periods, pools and caps. Label each reward source. A campaign bonus should not be presented as the permanent base rate.
| Reward source | Check | Common mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Core Card rewards | Tier, multiplier and shared monthly cap | Using maximum advertised rate |
| Merchant promotion | Merchant, dates and quota | Assuming every cardholder qualifies |
| Welcome reward | New-user and top-up conditions | Ignoring prior account activity |
| Pay Later incentive | Separate plan and cap | Combining it with ordinary cashback |
28. Audit one purchase
- Open the completed transaction.
- Record authorization and settlement dates.
- Record final amount, currency and merchant.
- Confirm regional eligibility.
- Record tier effective at settlement.
- Calculate an expected point range.
- Subtract shared cap already used.
- Find pending or available points.
- Find manual or automatic redemption.
- Match the Funding Account credit.
- Check later refunds or corrections.
- Save identifiers before contacting support.
29. Monthly rewards reconciliation
Export or record completed Card and Pay activity for the month. Separate eligible purchases, excluded transactions, refunds and promotions. Reconcile total points earned against tier multiplier and cap, then reconcile points deducted against rewards credited.
The useful equation is:
30. Troubleshooting matrix
| Problem | Likely reason | First check |
|---|---|---|
| No points | Purchase pending or ineligible | Settlement status and exclusions |
| Points remain pending | Processing or risk review | Current official window |
| Lower rate | Higher tier not yet effective | Settlement and upgrade dates |
| Fewer points | Shared monthly cap reached | Card plus Pay records |
| Auto Cashback missing | Disabled or below minimum | Toggle, token and point balance |
| Points deducted, no visible cash | Wrong account or processing time | Funding Account history |
| Points removed | Refund, reversal or correction | Linked transaction history |
| Unexpected token amount | Conversion occurred at redemption | Redemption details and rate |
31. Common rewards mistakes
- Multiplying every purchase by the maximum advertised rate.
- Using authorization amount instead of settled amount.
- Ignoring Card and Pay’s shared points total.
- Applying a new tier retroactively.
- Confusing pending points with cashback received.
- Looking only in Card history instead of Funding Account.
- Mixing campaign bonuses with the core cap.
- Ignoring later refunds.
- Spending unnecessarily to chase a tier.
- Ignoring FX, fees or crypto conversion costs.
32. Frequently asked questions
When do Bybit Card points appear?
They generally follow settlement and can remain pending for the current processing window. Check the live Rewards record and official FAQ.
Why did I not receive the advertised cashback rate?
The purchase may have settled before a tier upgrade, reached a shared monthly cap, contained ineligible amounts or fallen under different regional terms.
Do Bybit Card and Bybit Pay share a cap?
Current Bybit documentation says their points can be aggregated under the reward tier and point cap. Verify the program shown for your account.
Where does Auto Cashback go?
Bybit currently credits converted cashback to the Funding Account. Check Points Records and Funding Account History.
Can a refund remove cashback?
Yes, a refund or reversal can lead to a corresponding reward adjustment under program rules.
Does a purchase that unlocks a tier receive the new rate?
Not necessarily. Card tier upgrades currently depend on settlement and effective timing; later transactions may receive the upgraded rate.
Do Rewards Points expire?
Review the current regional FAQ and terms. Program rules can change, and promotional points may have separate conditions.
Is chasing a higher tier profitable?
Not automatically. Compare extra spending, fees, conversion costs and the capped incremental reward.
Final checklist
- Confirm card product, region and live program.
- Use settled, eligible amount.
- Record tier effective date and multiplier.
- Check the shared Card and Pay cap.
- Distinguish pending from available points.
- Confirm Auto Cashback and selected token.
- Match deducted points to Funding Account credit.
- Review refunds, reversals and promotions separately.
- Compare net benefit after fees and conversion.
- Use transaction identifiers when contacting official support.
Final takeaway
Bybit Card rewards are a process, not one percentage. Settlement determines the final purchase, tier and cap determine the points, redemption determines cashback, and refunds can alter the result later. A reliable audit follows every stage.
Use the authenticated dashboard for current rates and limits, preserve transaction references and judge rewards by net value rather than headline percentage.
