A Bitget Unified Trading Account margin loan allows eligible collateral to support borrowed exposure across supported markets. It may reduce the need to move funds between product wallets, but borrowing introduces interest, collateral haircuts and liquidation risk.

Collateral is not valued equally

UTA can recognize several eligible assets, yet volatile collateral may receive a haircut. A token worth $1,000 in the spot market might provide less usable margin. If its price falls while a leveraged position loses, account equity can deteriorate from both directions.

Borrowing and repayment

Before borrowing, verify the asset, interest calculation, rate updates and repayment order. Interest can make a directionally correct position unprofitable when held too long. Open orders may reserve margin, while partial repayment may not release as much collateral as expected.

Margin health checklist

  • Initial and maintenance-margin requirements.
  • Cross versus isolated exposure.
  • Collateral haircut and conversion rules.
  • Accrued interest and estimated liquidation level.
  • Available balance after open orders.

Avoid maximum borrowing

The platform limit is not a recommended position size. Leave a buffer for volatility, fees and changing collateral values. A stop order may reduce risk but cannot guarantee execution during a gap.

Who should use a UTA loan?

It may suit experienced traders who understand shared collateral and actively monitor exposure. Beginners should learn with spot trading or very small amounts first. Borrow only after documenting the exit and repayment path, including what happens if markets move sharply outside normal hours.
